How to: Mix sound files.
Solution:
Open Sound Recorder and open a sound file. Select the position to start the second file. Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Mix File...'. Select the desired file and click 'Open'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.
3) Select 'Multimedia' and select 'Sound Recorder'. (The 'Sound Recorder' window appears.)
4) Open a sound file:
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The 'Open' dialog box appears.)
b) In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the drive where the sound file is located.
c) Select the appropriate folder and click 'Open'.
d) Select the sound file and click 'Open'. (The 'Sound Recorder' window for the selected sound file appears.)
5) Position the progress pointer where the second sound file is to be mixed in.

NOTE: If the progress pointer is at either end, the second sound file will be appended to the first sound file. Position the pointer somewhere in the middle to have the second sound file mixed over the first, starting at the selected position.
6) Open the sound file to mix with the first file:
a) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Mix with File...'. (The 'Mix With File' dialog box appears.)
b) In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the drive where the sound file is saved.
c) Select the appropriate folder and click 'Open'.
d) Select the desired sound file and click 'Open'. (The file is mixed, beginning at the position specified.)

7) (Optional) Click 'Play' to play the file.
8) Do one of the following to save the file:
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save' to save the changes.
b) To save the sound file with a new name:
1] Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save As...'. (The 'Save As' dialog box appears.)
2] In the 'Save in' drop-down list, select the drive to which to save the new sound file.
3] Select the folder to save the file in and click 'Open'.
4] Type a new name in the 'File name' box and click 'Save'.
